I was recently having a conversation with a friend.

We’re both active. We both like to move our bodies. We both like to train. To be honest, I think she’s a machine - she sure gives me a run for my money. The importance she places on movement and exercise is a rare quality. Her consistent attitude to ‘just get it done’, inspires me.

When most people use the excuse of “I’m too tired.” She won’t.

Instead, she reminds herself this:

The distance between dreams and reality is called action. The question is, are you prepared to take action. Are you willing to risk it all for what you love. Will you strive beyond measure to bring to life the thing that sets your soul on fire?

Don't forget to do things 'Just For Fun'

It's so easy to get caught up in the daily to-do's. It's easy for life to become a series of monotonous habits - if we let it. It's easy to let our relationships become normal, familiar and unexciting. It's easy to opt out and say "I'm busy".

I recently had someone sweep through my life very briefly. Temporarily, beautifully; like a hurricane. I know hurricanes may not seem beautiful and they tend to leave destruction in their path, but what they also do is wash away stagnant energy. They effortlessly spill into all crevices and break through closed doors. They tear down the old to bring a new beginning; a newfound you - a greater version of yourself; one you’ve never been. While this hurricane caused no damage, she definitely washed me clean.

What I am coming to appreciate with such a profound love is that people come into our lives for reasons beyond what our mind can always comprehend. Some come in for the long haul, others for cups of tea and others steal a kiss like the wind. Many times people come into our lives as a reflection to show us who we’ve grown into. To show us where we still hold our guard, and to gently assure us, it’s okay to put down our shield. It’s through others we get to see our beauty, our grandness and how wonderful we really are.

I wanted to travel more, yet my mind kept telling me it wasn't in the budget - or that I don't have the time now.

I knew that was a sweet little lie. I knew that was just an excuse my mind was using to keep me small and confined within my comfort zone.

You see, waiting to do what you want to do because of money (or time) will keep you in that space with that story of "When I have this, then I'll go". Or substitute that for when I have this I'll do that.

Now, it wasn’t always clear cut for me.
I have been crippled with the idea of what my so called “gift” was. Over time I felt pretty sure it was just some made up bollocks like “purpose” (hold up, keep reading) and life forgot to give me one.

Danielle La Porte isn't your cookie cutter girlfriend. Na-uh, now way!
And she definitely ain't the girl in your BFF bandwagon who's a little vanilla - that’s for sure!

Danielle is an intricately layered book of wisdom with a solid sprinkle of honesty, a modest helping of anecdotal laughter bombs; mixed in amongst her White Hot Truth - and let's not forget the hint of love that lingers with her sassy-demure presence.

We're always rushing. Rushing here. Rushing there. And in our rush, we fail to Be Here.

This is a beautiful and short piece by Steal Time Back. A website and product range with a vision that is to "bring more oneness into the world by reminding it of the present of the present".

You know when you wanna change something because you’re tired of walking into the same brick wall? Then there’s this other part of you that keeps luring you back down that darn alleyway. And you know better.
Oh yes, yes you do.

BUT that Voice (you know the one) is effing seductive. It can charm you back into false illusions quicker than a rabbit outta a hat.

And so whaddya do?

What the EFF do you do when you want to make a life change, and you keep getting pulled into the alleyways of your mind?

You must share your story because if you don’t, you are doing a disservice to yourself and the world.

Your greatest heartbreak and the lessons you’ve learned must be shared, whether that’s to loved ones, a close friend, in a blog post or a goodbye letter.
Your moments of success must be expressed so that those who come after you know they are not alone on the journey and that whatever obstacles they face, they can get through them.
The time you experienced the goodness and kindness from another when you had lost hope in humanity, only you know what that felt like and only you can share it.
